At College or University

At College or University

We provide assessments for adults attending College or University who are experiencing learning related difficulties (e.g. reading, dyslexia, dyspraxia).

We work with University Student Services and provide assessments to enable their students access to appropriate support.

We understand auditory processing and visual stress.

We offer counselling and training relating to mental health, stress, anxiety and more.

Assessment is conducted in a relaxed and friendly way that is comfortable for you. An assessment typically involves:

  • Completing a background questionnaire
  • Meeting with a Chartered Educational Psychologist
  • Participating with a number of cognitive (problem solving) tests, together with further literacy related (reading and spelling) tests, lasting up to 2 hours.

A report is provided in under 10 days.

Students with dyslexia, dyspraxia and other needs are shown a strength and weakness profile, accompanied by recommendations.

A report often enables students to access a Needs Assessment for Disability Student Allowance (DSA), resulting in resources to assist with their dyslexic or particular learning needs.

Advice and Support

We provide a consultancy service for Colleges and Universities, offering advice and support for both staff and students.

We deliver awareness raising courses and briefings lead by an Educational Psychologist.

Our courses explore what a specific learning difficulty (such as dyslexia) is and how it can affect individuals, outlining their skills and abilities and presenting strategies for both teaching staff and the individual. Mental health training is also available.

We can introduce staff to cognitive behavioural, solution focused approaches, or the powerful Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) for students experiencing anxiety, exam nerves, and more.

We can provide phone and online advice or training for staff and students.

Counselling Services

Offering person centred counselling services (and ACT therapy), in person, online (e.g. zoom), or via phone to both organisations and individuals. Specialising in anxiety, panic disorder, bereavement and more. Training in mental health is also available.

We provide support and services to businesses, schools, employers and individuals in East Sussex (Bexhill, Eastbourne, Lewes, Hastings and across the UK).

Individual sessions, short and long term contracts offered, depending on availability.
