Workplace

Workplace

We work with HR departments, disability officers and welfare officers, organising workplace assessments for business, organisations and employers, often where there is a suspected learning need.

We deliver training courses and briefings to raise understanding of specific learning needs.

We might also work with you on your selection processes.

We also offer counselling and training relating to mental health, stress and anxiety.

Assessment

Possible
Colleagues

Assessment is conducted in a relaxed and friendly way that is comfortable for you.

An assessment typically involves initial contact with the referrer or manager to gather background information and clarify requirements, followed by the employee:

  • Completing a background questionnaire
  • Meeting with a Chartered Educational Psychologist
  • Participating with a number of cognitive (problem solving) tests, together with further literacy related (reading and spelling) tests, lasting up to 2 hours.

A report is provided in under 10 days.

Employees with dyslexia, dyspraxia and other needs are usually shown a strength and weakness profile, accompanied by recommendations.

The report will outline reasonable workplace adjustments and recommendations to assist with an employee’s dyslexic or particular learning needs.

Advice and Support

Meeting
Meeting

We provide a consultancy service for business, offering advice and support for both employers and employees.

We deliver awareness raising courses and briefings lead by an Educational Psychologist. These can either be at our office or at your workplace.

Our courses explore what a specific learning difficulty (such as dyslexia) is and how it can affect individuals, outlining their skills and abilities and presenting strategies for both individuals and managers to make adjustments to overcome problems in the workplace.

We advise staff on cognitive behavioural and/or solution focused approaches for staff experiencing difficulties with anxiety, public speaking, etc.

We can provide telephone advice for employers and employees. We can also provide a counsellor and counselling services.
